NEW YORK, NY – Human beings can actually grow horns, medical journals report. “It certainly does happen from time to time,” declared Dr. S. George Brown, a respected psychiatrist.

What are these horns? Some have been attributed to cortex hyperplasia, cutaneous horns and even tumors. Others have gone completely unexplained. But they have appeared time and time again throughout human history.
A recent survey uncovered these astonishing cases:

- A 34-year-old Brooklyn, N.Y. man grew a horn that curled like a ram’s from the right side of his head. He hid the growth under a hat for six years. But one day the wind blew his hat off – and horrified co-workers hounded him from his job.

- A 17-year-old girl in South Africa had 45 horns up to five inches long growing from her arms and legs.

- A Mexican porter had a horn 14 inches in circumference protruding from the top of his head. It branched off in three directions.

- A 95-year-old woman grew a five-inch horn out of the middle of her forehead (pictured above). It grew for about three years before she went to doctors with it. “At first, it was only a mole, but it gradually grew and became like a horn. It causes me no discomfort, but blocks part of my view,” said Zhao.

- An 88-year-old man had a horn nearly six inches long curving from the back of his right hand.

“Most people think that humans with horns are a figment of mythology,” noted Dr. Brown, who treated the 88-year-old man.

But the classic medical textbook Anomalies and Curiousities of Medicine cites instances of horns appearing on human heads, faces, legs, feet, backs, chins and even eyelids. And it mentions the incredible case of a woman who had as many as 185 horns.

What causes these eruptions? No one is sure. In the case of the Brooklyn man, “he was struck on his head during a fight,” according to an article documenting the case in the American Journal of Surgery.

“A month later, he noticed a lump in the same area, the size of a pea. So he went to his doctor, who took it out.

“About six months later, the growth reappeared. It began to grow very fast and became very noticeable, so the patient always wore a hat. For six years, his children never saw their father without a hat.”

Neither did his fellow workers – until that fateful gust of wind revealed his secret.

But his case had a happy ending. Like some other victims, he had his horn removed by surgery.

Because what we are looking at is beyond your human imagination. Because what we are looking at takes a certain type of psychological galvanization. Our pre-history and future depend on the human race bracing themselves for the facts of life. Although most of what we are looking at is terrifying - it is also inexplicably beautiful. The engineering concepts alone are beyond anything man has produced on Earth (as far as I know) and inspires a fantastic wave of imagination. Consider this whole complex as a huge arcology, capable of movement, a truly "alien" engineering facility. I think this is some type of smelting/chemical process.
